My Personal Story:

"From Debt to Triumph: My Journey in the Fashion Business"


Hello and nice to meet you!


I'm excited to open up and share my personal journey in the fashion business, specifically my experience of running Maiden-Art, a jewelry brand, for over a decade.


My hope is that my story resonates with you and serves as inspiration, proving that it's entirely possible to start and grow a fashion business from the ground up, armed with the right strategies.


When I began my fashion venture, trade shows were the

go-to platform for showcasing collections.

However, these shows came at a steep cost—ranging from $5K to $10K per event.

The process involved applying months in advance, securing a space by paying at least 50% upfront, and shouldering additional expenses for accommodation and travel.

It sounds almost surreal now, but at the time, there were no social media, Facebook, or e-commerce platforms to leverage for visibility. Trade shows were the lifeline for emerging brands to be noticed by both the press and retailers.


Unfortunately, my initial investments didn't yield the expected returns.

I ended up incurring a substantial debt of $50K, a humbling setback that turned out to be a monumental lesson.

In a last-minute scramble to salvage a trade show appearance, I had to pivot from showcasing clothing to presenting handmade jewelry—giving rise to Maiden-Art.


Cut to the chase: I lost $50K from trade shows, showroom expenses, and sample production.

But here's the silver lining—I turned it around the following year, achieving a net profit of $35K and clearing my entire debt.


Here's how I made the transformation:


1)Invested in Myself:

Expanded my knowledge in marketing and sales through online courses.
Shifted my mindset and surrounded myself with inspiring figures. ( I was one of Marie Forleo B-School Students)

2)Understood My Customers:

Deepened my understanding of customers' problems and needs.
Tailored my products to provide maximum value and benefits.

3) Built an Email List & Sales Funnels:

Focused on online efforts while not neglecting the offline world.
Actively grew my email list by offering value in exchange for engagement.
